Note that the implications of our work are not only relevant to lacustrine brGDGT temperature calibrations but also to other proxies and calibration applications in Quaternary science.

Demonstrate and evaluate calibration models constructed using different statistical approaches and applied downcore to contrasting sites.
Recommend approaches to evaluate and validate calibration model applicability, performance and reliability when applied down core.
