I’m 59 years old, and have paid into Social Security since I was 15. If I thought that SS would not have been part of my retirement plan, I would not have bought new cars, eaten out, or the other things we are expected to do in a consumer based economy.

I don’t agree with Dr. Thomas Sowell on much, but I agree with this statement: “It is hard to imagine a more stupid or dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong”

Now I see they are floating Mel Gibson as a CA candidate for governor. The Rs just can’t stop voting for celebrities. Will it ever sink in that someone who has made themselves obscenely wealthy has no interest in your well being?
