My great-aunt was born in NYC in 1921 so according to NYC, as a great-niece, I'm allowed to get her birth cert. However, since she died out-of-state (NJ), they need her OG death cert. AFAIK, I can't get her death cert b/c I'm not next-of-kin. Help?

I know none my family didn't come over until more than 100 years after the Revolution but I'm still so excited about it! It's Ken Burns!

Bad news: I'm trying to get the birth certs for my mat. GPs, both died in not their birth state. Michigan says give us a copy of the death cert. NYC says give us the *original* death cert. Me: I don't have an original of either!

Two weeks ago as of tomorrow (Friday), I started a job! Unfortunately, this means that I likely won’t make it to #AncestryHour & (maybe) #GenHour for the foreseeable future.

I also want to let you know that while it's not 100% certain, I might be starting a job soon so this might be my last #genealogy chat (for both #AncestryHour and #GenHour) for a while.

If you want to read about a few things I’ve already found in the boxes, my blog is at:
Rebeccasatticancestry.blogspot.com
(To read only abt the boxes, click on the tag “what is in the box.” However, you could just read the whole blog bc I don’t have many blog posts.)

2. After I read this, this article reminded me of my grandfather's brother-in-law who was taken off the streets of Vienna in May 1938 with nothing but the clothes on his back for the crime of being Jewish & was sent to Dachau (& later Buchenwald).
This is the 1930s all over again.

In good news though, I'm hoping to go through the boxes w/ my aunt either at the end of this week or sometime next week so hopefully I'll have news for you on that front either next week or the week afterwards.

For those of you who have the AncestryHour tab (feed?) up on the top as one of your feeds, when you click the AncestryHour tab does it say:
"Your feed is empty! You may need to follow more users or tune your language settings."
B/c that's mine. Does anyone else have this problem?
