Seven years ago, a group of transgender kids came together with a simple idea: show the world who we really are.

Since then, GenderCool Champions have been leading with joy, purpose, and resilience. They’re writing books, advising companies, and shaping the future as the next generation of leaders.

GenderCool Champions are showing what’s possible when transgender and nonbinary youth are supported to lead. Centering their voices is not only powerful, it’s essential to building a world where every young person can thrive.

Sawyer’s story is a reminder that being yourself isn’t something that can be taught. Every young person knows themselves best and when they are embraced for who they are, they thrive.

Visibility is just one important piece of the movement. We must keep uplifting transgender and nonbinary voices, not just on March 31st, but year-round.

They're regular teenagers who go to school, hang out with friends, and give back to their communities. They're also testifying in congress, leading advocacy campaigns, and speaking at corporate events, shaping the world into a more inclusive place for their transgender and nonbinary peers.

Because we all need a few positive affirmations right now.

Nava Mau is an actress, film maker, and cultural worker making waves in mainstream representation of transgender people. In 2024, her performance as Teri in Netflix's Baby Reindeer earned her an Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.
