Thatcher's government did this with Section 28, banned the "promotion of homosexuality" as a danger to children, while actively protecting Jimmy Savile and who knows how many other pedophiles. It's the same damn playbook.
I cannot begin to properly articulate how upsetting it is to have had people baselessly accuse trans people of being groomers and pedophiles only for it to come out that they were deliberately doing this as part of a project to provide cover to actual groomers and pedophiles in positions of power

This is the summary of a thread (the last major part of it so click it to find the rest) on the subject of trans healthcare currently being at risk. Long story short, people are spreading misinformation and screaming fire in a crowded building instead of fighting a future ~POTENTIAL~ fight.
TL;DR, the current CR doesn't have any risks to gender-affirming care. But the upcoming spending fight will and it's important to differentiate between the two, especially when it's information for a vulnerable population. Our job should be to seek truth and report it and minimize harm.
