Small companies have tech people at “C level” that can make such decisions and understand why it’s necessary. My experience is that non-tech managers hardly understand why it’s important to support OSS. I think that the bigger the company and budget, the less likely mgmt is willing to support OSS.
With my small company I sponsor open source packages 📦 💶 for a small amount per month. It’s almost unbelievable but last time I checked I was one of the very few sponsors for FluentValidation. OSS needs more companies chipping in!
