I think a lot about when I was looking at Pathfinder 2e: I found a dude that made like 2 dozen videos about how this or that nitty rules detail made things so specific/granular/simulationist… and then I found his video about his group dumping Pathfinder bc the rules overhead was so exhausting

I think there’s a lot to like about The One Ring TTRPG, but one of my main points is: it’s blessedly simple, whereas my opinion of 5e—and anything trying to be like 5e (i.e. Daggerheart)—has so many needlessly fiddly bits?

Anyway, @gailsimone.bsky.social clued me in to the existence of The One Ring ttrpg and I thought “Why not let it consume my soul?” and, by the end of the week, the only published materials I won’t have are Realms of the Three Rings and the two new books that haven’t released, yet

All of my students are behind where they should be in course completion by the schedule laid out in my syllabus and I don’t know what to do other than email them “remember: please do your work?”

There are cosplay contests, oneshots, D&D tutorials, improv sessions, bardcore musicians, dance performances by The Misty Steps, and of course merch
