Eagles Home Opener Looks Like It'll Be One Giant Traffic Shit Show Because of SEPTA Situation
The home opener between the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys looks like it'll be a traffic nightmare if SEPTA doesn't get funding.

Last month, Mayor Cherelle Parker's city budget gave tax cuts to the wealthiest corporations in Philly. Now, she claims there's no money left for striking city workers to make a living wage.

Thanks to the advocacy of @kendraphlcouncil.bsky.social, @domesticworkers.bsky.social, and so many other councilmembers, leaders, and partners, the POWER Act is now PASSED.

This will expand protections for over 750k workers & make Philly one of the most pro-worker cities in the country.

O’Connor is the one who made this a campaign issue when *HE* challenged Mayor Gainey to “take a walk” & look at Pitt’s 1,600 units of housing.

the mayor took him up on it & planned a whole tour, and now O’Connor is ducking it. too scared to be shown up!

🐔 😭
The mayor turned his housing walk into a campaign rally. I won’t be there. This video breaks down why: his debate claim of 1,600 new completed affordable units simply isn’t backed by his own tracker.

the top-line fossil fuel money is very bad in and of itself, but it's genuinely insane that Corey O'Connor has taken & won't return a max from Cliff Forrest, an executive whose mining company left 300k West Virginians without water... www.pghcitypaper.com/news/mayoral...

We're proud to endorse @gaineyformayor.com for re-election.

Mayor Gainey has taking on big fights to protect the people of Pittsburgh against corporate developers & Donald Trump.

In his next term, Gainey will continue making Pittsburgh a safe and affordable home for everyone.

oh my god -- Walnut Capital money is too dirty for *a super PAC supporting Corey O'Connor* but not for O'Connor's hard side campaign 😂

rarely do you see PACs return ANY money, but even more rarely do you see them refund money *the candidate they are supporting has also received*

wow, new bombshell reporting from @lukewgoldstein.bsky.social reveals:

- in 2023, Corey O'Connor strongly supported Ed Gainey's legal challenges to UPMC's property tax exemptions.

- in 2025, O'Connor's mayoral campaign received $25k from the UPMC Board.

- he now opposes the legal challenges.

Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey has stood up to Trump and Musk at every turn. He’s also one of the progressive mayors in the country. Republicans know they can’t beat him in November. So now MAGA Republicans are pouring money into a May Democratic primary challenge to Gainey.

Here’s the inside story:

i feel like the Pitt mayoral campaign is going to make me overuse the "oh my god, he admit it" meme, but wow.

Walnut Capital thinks that donating $13k to Corey O'Connor will give them more access to the mayor's office? & they're just straight up admitting that? www.publicsource.org/pittsburgh-m...

wow, Corey O’Connor admits to raising over $90k from a late January fundraiser hosted by big-money Pittsburgh real estate interests, including $20k from two of the city’s most predatory slumlords.

🧐 "Major donors to President Donald Trump are pouring money into the race to unseat PGH Mayor Ed Gainey, lining up behind his primary opponent Corey O’Connor.

GOP donors have already funneled more than $130k into the race, more than 20 percent of O’Connor’s January haul."

Anyway, barring some miracle, it seems increasingly likely that a sizeable minority of Senate Dems are about to join with the entire Senate GOP to greenlight a law that will hand Ken Paxton and any random federal judge more power over immigration than any state or judge has ever had in US history.
And now Rosen says she supports and Hickenlooper (like Ossoff) won't filibuster. Hickenlooper says he will seek amendments (which require a majority so likely won't happen).

So now it's down to one final senator.
Kelly is now on board too. If another 3 Dems agree to vote yes, this becomes a law. www.politico.com/live-updates...
