Trump has transformed the justice system into a Putin-style autocratic protection racket. The wealthy are not audited or investigated, if convicted they are pardoned. Political opponents are targeted. Unidentified masked agents grab people off the street, and protesters are shot.

Listen, I’m a big fan. I didn’t say we are living under fascism right now. I also didn’t say that you haven’t shouted from the rooftops that we are on a path to authoritarianism. I just don’t understand why you are now engaging with random Bluesky users (including me) on this issue.

You are clearly not a deadhead. For us the music is one continuous line from Magoo’s pizza parlor in 1965 to Sphere in Vegas 2025. It evolves and gathers new generations as the vibe continues to grow outward.

I remember this.
One of my favorite moments in the history of free speech: Larry Flynt publishing a satirical Campari ad featuring Jerry Falwell Sr. as an incestuous drunk who first had sex with his mother in an outhouse. Falwell sued. In a unanimous decision, the Supreme Court found that satire is protected speech.
