Caught a preview screening of "Is This Thing On?" (opens Dec. 19) and it's a winner. Great performances by Will Arnett and Laura Dern, with fun support by director Bradley Cooper. Has much to say about marriage, family, relationships--and stand-up comedy. Be on the lookout! #newmovies

Just caught up with the @netflix.com #documentary "Sunday Best," the story of "The Ed Sullivan Show." It's an incredible time capsule of 1950s & '60s America, Sullivan's underheralded courage against societal pressures, & a timely mirror to today. Nostalgic, entertaining and powerful. Check it out!

"Mr. Scorsese" on Apple TV is a thoroughly entertaining deep dive into the life and career of the great Martin Scorsese. Features an all-star lineup incl. Spielberg, De Niro, De Palma, Jodie Foster, Sharon Stone and of course, the man himself. A 5-hour time investment you won't regret. Check it out!

In honor of the superb new Bruce Springsteen biopic "Deliver Me From Nowhere" (and as a huge Bruce fan), it was fun to write this piece for @latimes.com: "The 9 most-lauded pop-music biopics in Oscars history: A ‘Springsteen’-inspired guide." Check it out! lat.ms/477pnJ3

Saw a preview of "Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere" and it's superb. Writer-director Scott Cooper's lovingly crafted, lyrical, deeply emotional musical-drama has an amazing lead turn by Jeremy Allen White as Bruce. If you're a @brucespringsteen.net fan (like me), don't miss it. Opens Friday!

An outstanding performance by #EthanHawke as legendary lyricist Lorenz Hart anchors this terrific 1940s-set dramedy directed by the great Richard Linklater. Don't miss "Blue Moon." Margaret Qualley, Bobby Canavale and Andrew Scott lend superb support. #oscars2026

Really enjoying "Boots" on @netflix.com based on the memoir "The Pink Marine" by Greg Cope White. Miles Heizer and the cast are excellent and the show strikes an effective tone between comedy and drama. Check it out! #newseries #streamingseries #marines

If you're a @marcmaron.bsky.social fan like me, it's a good bet you'll enjoy the new #documentary "Are We Good?," an up-close-and-personal look at the comedian-podcaster-actor. Not surprisingly, dark humor abounds. Check out my @latimes.com review: www.latimes.com/entertainmen...
Review: Marc Maron, doomy as ever, comes to richer life in the doc 'Are We Good?'
The podcaster and stand-up comic gets reflective in moments with his ailing father and late romantic partner, Lynn Shelton, that counter the swirl of crankiness he's long brewed.
