I was gone on vacation for a while but it's time to get back to posting progress! Units now gain experience in combat and can level up. I'm thinking of keeping the upgrades automatic for now, picking an option for every unit sounds like it would take up too much time for players

Testing out some new sprites for the terrain, I wonder if this style fits 🤔 I think I like the grass and dirt more this way, the water still needs work.

Units now have a list of passive abilities. I just need to find room for displaying their experience level because that's the next thing we're going to add 😅

Roads now properly connect to each other! And the info under every city is a bit clearer and now matches the player color.

Improved the hp bar a bit. Still doesn't look great but its better. It also changes colors from green to red. No more numbers displayed on the map - its all in the menu now.

Experimenting with where to display passive unit skills. I put them on the right side of the menu as smaller buttons for now but they don't have icons yet. That is probably where the current buffs/debuffs will also go to.

The end turn button now cycles through all available actions before you can end your turn.

I was picking a new font today for the descriptions. I ended up liking this one: RobotoCondensed
It has a slightly sci-fi theme but is still easy to read

Right now there is no limit to how many of a building you can have. So for example you can only build science buildings and get a ton of science. I wonder if this is really more fun than having 1 of each though 🤔

Right now capturing cities happens instantly but there are a few turns of revolt where you can't use the new city. I plan to add walls and maybe more options on what to do with conquered cities.

You can now select terrain if you hold down ctrl. I will try to put a more natural hotkey for it in the future. I wonder how much information should this give you, right now it's very limited 🤔

Currently, you don't make combat units out of your cities, but build them from separate buildings and they each have their own build queue. I do like this system so far but I will experiment more with how quickly they are trained and with their cost

The map generation is pretty basic right now but here is the Lakes script. It has a few large water masses and a lot of small lakes (shocking). I will try to add a few more terrain types and maybe snow at the top and bottom of the map!
