In these times we may feel like it is the depths of winter where we just do all we can to survive, but deep inside we know that spring will return

Deeply disappointed HOW Dr Robbie rides a #Motorcycle. ATGATT - All The Gear All The Time. And crosses a double yellow line

At Microsoft the laptops used by production engineers are SAWs. They, through security controls, firewall production from corporate :

What is old is new again. I may be missing something but this feels like trusting user input and not sanitizing it before loading it in for computation, akin to SQL injection.

I really was joking about the sound, but I do want well north of 300 mile range at highway speeds
January 8, 2026 at 9:24 AM
I want around 400 miles, 350 lb payload at around 70 MPH.

That would get me a full day ride.

Oh yeah, stereo speakers to play a recording of my Harley 😅🤣😂😎

Sounds like you need to buy a #Motorcycle, then the resistance bands will be forgotten 😂🤣😅

Basically from the waist up everything looks pretty good, the jacket looks like it has armor, but yeah. The shoes and pants would shred in less than a second

That sucks. When is your next chance to get out?

It does negate the lean, I had to turn on the horizon leveling so I am pretty sure you can set it up to show lean. Example of the video :

If you don't mind spending a little money I would hang your Ubuntu or Debian server off a second router connected to the switch you have your home network router is connected to, that way you can still use your home network for troubleshooting if you mess up the config on your "production" side

Is this something you want to dive into? Since you know Linux that gets you 50% there. You could set up a DMZ on the router or for ease just buy another cheap router and connect that into your provider. Automatic segmentation. But yeah, you get to do DNS that changes as your IP changes

My website is on Microsoft Azure, pure HTML and they handle all of the vulnerabilities. Around $10/month. I understand not wanting to pay for a site but being a sysadmin is work also...

Soooooo... That is a complicated question. Are you comfortable with configuring your home router? WordPress is known for TONS of vulnerabilities so you would need to patch frequently or someone could attack your old computer, get a foothold inside your home network and attack other computers

Good description. Half of my commute was on non-public roads but also on the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge so fewer trucks but still dealing with wild pigs and alligators. Always worried about sliding into the ditch

Florida is extra special, glad I didn't learn to ride in that state, probably would have killed me. This one is also interesting, a roundabout and a half. Going north you have to look left AND right to make sure there isn't traffic

Good luck on that. Tech is looking to monetize you in any way it can. Anything you say or do WILL be used against you (you know the rest) ...

Agree 100%. My mantra - Computers should be seen and not heard.

I do not speak to my computer or phone (unless on a phone call) and I have curated all the alerts to just what *I* want to hear about. If an app starts alerting unexpectedly all of the alerts get turned off for that app.
