The @brennancenter.org obtained a letter the ‪ @nyccomptroller.bsky.social and @advocate.nyc.gov
sent to the Mayor on Tuesday asking an important question: What’s going on with the NYPD Inspector General’s office?

My interns surveyed 216 water fountains in District 6, and found that 10% of fountains don't work.

I passed legislation that will add 50+ water fountains at park entrances, but the work isn't done.

People shouldn't be stuck with broken fountains on a hot day!

Last night, 8/12/25, I attended the Cannabis in the City Tour event, led by the Cannabis Justice & Equity Initiative. It was an important event to promote Cannabis safety and awareness for the communities that need it most. Let's keep pushing to keep our city safe!

I love ice cream but here's the scoop...

My interns found 61% of ice cream trucks outside Central Park are parked in bike lanes, and that's dangerous.

I had such an amazing time Tuesday at the reopening of the Delacorte Theater, joined by the incredible Sandra Oh, Peter Dinklage, Jesse Tyler Ferguson. Shakespeare in the Park is a cornerstone of NYC’s cultural life, and I’m proud to support its next chapter!

On Sunday I had a blast celebrating 30 years of the Central Park Dance Skaters Association!

For decades, CPDSA has brought joy and music to the Park, while fighting to protect their right to skate there. I’ve been proud to support them through it all.

Here’s to the next 30 years of rolling!

Returning to the UWS on 7/9!

The program offers a bag of fresh produce for $10 ($15+ value). It’s pay as you go, so it’s a great value with no need for commitment, just a little advanced planning!

Today we testify to NYC Council in support of @galeabrewer.bsky.social 's bill to codify and expand the NYC OpenRecords portal, the public's current tool to submit and track Freedom of Information Law requests.

Today the Council heard my bill, Int. 1235, to bring transparency and reform to NYC’s FOIL process. New Yorkers deserve timely access to public records without waiting months or years.

I joined advocates at City Hall this morning to say loud and clear: Immigrants deserve more support, not less.

New York City is a city of immigrants, and we need a budget to reflect that!

I support the retirees in their advocacy to maintain their current health insurance, and not force them into Medicare Advantage.
A few minutes ago, the New York State Court of Appeals ruled for the City against retirees on Medicare advantage. To read the full decision, search "Bentkowski" here: courtpass.nycourts.gov/Public_search
