Anyone else fighting with sleep issues due to a covid infection? It’s like my brain suddenly forgot how to sleep. I lie awake for 5-6 hours just to fall into a very restless sleep of 2-3 hours. This is going on for three weeks now and I‘m going insane.
Tried meditation, breathing exercises etc. 1/3

Really really debating if I should offer holiday commissions this year. I loooove when I get to work on gifts with clients (I often get sent photos of framed comms at the end 😭🫶) but the pressure is high and the temptation to just close up shop for the tailend of 2025 is strong...

If you aren't seeing skeets from some of your fave people, they might have been labeled "Rude" by bsky mods. Idk what they are thinking, I don't need a mommy to tell me who to be buddies with. Anyway, go into Settings > moderation > bluesky moderation (advanced) and turn Rude off.
Rude Rude or impolite, including crude language and disrespectful comments, without constructive purpose. Highlighted Off, darkened Warn, and darkened Hide buttons.

My husband was without a job for all of 2024 (like 14 months in total) and it was the hardest thing I ever had to deal with as a freelancer.

2025 has been rough so far for gigs but with him working again we are still safe and making ends meet.

Succeeding 'alone' is exceedingly rare.

Many full time creatives have “invisible safety nets” like bread-winning partners, trust funds, external support, etc. No shame on anyone, but it creates a false vision of success. The cost of going to cons alone on top of hoping to eat as a freelancer are untenable, IMO.

When people hear that I'm returning to part time work they often ask "are things not going well with your art?"

The problem really is things are going well, but the world is so unstable that I long for some consistency and income that I don't have to pay quarterly taxes on
