Cloudy skies, deep color, and that last light slipping behind the horizon. Salt Lake sunsets don’t miss.

Wandered through Dalry Cemetery and took some creative liberties with the photos — why not? NASA does the same with their space images, and no one complains. Old stones, tangled branches, history, decay set the atmosphere.

Toto at the OVO Hydro—always a masterclass in musicianship. Had the chance to see some old friends, hear some incredible music, and, of course, take a few hundred shots all while visiting Scotland!

Looking out from Great Cumbrae toward Ailsa Craig, rising from the Firth of Clyde. This island’s claim to fame? Curling stones. Nearly every Olympic curling stone is from Ailsa Craig’s rare granite.

“Everything is going to be alright” glowing in neon above the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art. I’m not so sure. But for now, it’s nice being out of the states.

A close-up of Sabine by Alison Watt at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art. The painting of cloth is soft, precise. Reminds me of the way my Uncle, William Whitaker, approached fabric in many of his works. It’s a beautiful piece, my eyes drawn to this specific section.

Portobello Beach, Edinburgh. iPhone in hand, a little too much processing because, well, it looked cool that way. Sun peeking through, small waves rolling in, the North Sea meets the Firth of Forth. Great day to explore, even better for odd photos.

Looking east towards the Wasatch Mountains from the Salt Lake Valley after a nice evening thunderstorm. The rainbow frames Mt. Olympus and Twin Peaks with Little Cottonwood Canyon right in the middle.

Waxing gibbous moon at 80.7% shines in two frames. First up is a close-up, where the golden handle makes an appearance—a fleeting sight caused by sunlight hitting the Montes Jura peaks along the moon’s edge.
