I still have no idea how this works.

Gonna make the rare post about crafts with maybe some woodworking and video games thrown in and see what happens.

And screaming into the void. Everyone needs a bit of that from time to time. For the soul.
If their argument is "we have to violate the Constitution and do it in secret" maybe they should take a hard look at whether what they are doing is moral in the first place. A stunning lack of introspection seems required to be a Republican these days. They don't even hear themselves.

And they are also a backdoor for funding anti-immigrant activity. This is to boost ICE and CBP indirectly to at least some extent. Didn't he use military money to build some of his wall in his first term?

And in many places in the United States, twice the local minimum wage ($7.25 x 2 = $14.50) isn't a living wage.

Trump withholding the funds from New York is just so on brand petty. He's not doing it for something he thinks might help people or even something corrupt like getting money for himself or his cronies. Just to get his name on something. What a petty, small bitch. The smallest of dicks energy.

Funny how he went to the prayer breakfast, a dude said he hoped the pres would do the right thing, and then he immediately posted something super racist.

The chaos this will cause coupled with ICE or some other paramilitary group being there. Could be another attempt at the insurrection act, martial law, or calling off the election? Maybe not front of mind or an overt attempt, but could end up happening.

So if you fund everything but the thing that is already funded what is left to negotiate or pass? Everything is funded. At least it would mean no extra money for ICE and CBP I guess? This just seems like theater at that point.

Holy shit this is amazing. We need more of this and a media that will blast it everywhere.

Oh, and a populace that gives a shit would be nice but I don't want to get greedy.
If you want to FINALLY watch Scott Bessent get pinned down on specifics about the illegal money laundering operation being conducted by the Trump admin from someone who knows WTF he’s talking about, this clip is your chance. Bessent gets destroyed.

I wish I lived in a country where our elected officials in Congress had at least half the balls of E. Jean Carroll, Stormy Daniels, Christine Blasey Ford, Anita Hill, or the Epstein survivors.

It's just another money grabbing grift like the ballroom. Just wait for the "donations" to start rolling in.

Could make an interesting chaotic cross stitch sampler?

What's the price of gold gonna do by the time Trump gets done gilding the Kennedy Center for two years?

Fresh dump of Epstein docs? Wonder what horrible shit they are planning for this weekend? Iran strike at a minimum?

Watching the dollar fall, metals go nuts, and yields rising, and can't help feeling like we will see some crazy inflation in like 6-12 months as the effects work their way through supply chains.

How long before feds wearing masks becomes justification for the everyday cop to start wearing a mask?

Sure hope they maintain a rigorous chain of custody or whatever and don't mysteriously find *cough* fabricated *cough* evidence of fraud or something.

At some point we as a country are going to need to reckon with how our society produces people like this. Trump, Miller, Noem, Bovino, Homan, all the people hired by ICE, etc. If we don't figure it out and fix it, this will all happen again.

Why is everyone so consistently concerned about her vote or opinion? She always goes along with the party, only voting no on a republican thing if they know they have the votes. Only bare mentions of concerns. She is the embodiment of a nothing burger but is constantly in the news. Crazy.

Fuck ICE. Fuck CBP. Fuck DHS.

Furious, scared, hopeless. Watching what's unfolding from the other side of the country feeling incredibly powerless. Terrified of where this is leading us.

Next time a democrat says they can't do anything because they don't have the votes, point to this and tell them to fuck off. These people chose to fund the American Gestapo. They didn't have to.
While ICE is killing innocent people, teargassing babies and pastors, and kidnapping our neighbors to ship them off to foreign torture prisons, seven House Democrats just voted with the GOP to give the regime’s secret police even more funding.

The continued dehumanizing language is striking. Specifically calling him an "animal."

I did. I noted your line about it being voluntary too. Both your posts seem to excuse companies for what may be a windfall with these refunds because they didn't raise prices. My whole point is lets look at it holistically before excusing these companies.

Sure, absorbing tariffs wasn't mandatory, but we should be careful when talking about consumer price increases related to tariffs. Just because they didn't raise prices doesn't mean it was altruistic. I'd like to know how much profit hit they actually took by absorbing tariffs when considering taxes
