I'm watching Perfect Match which reminds me strongly of Pride and Prejudice. My recent actor crush, Wang Xing Yue, is in the main cast 😍 I was extra happy to recognize Huangyang Tian Tian who was so delightful in The Sleuth of Ming Dynasty five years ago when she was 12. She's so talented!

I’ve been listening to 90s music almost exclusively for the last month and then yesterday I rediscovered all the bangers I loved in the 2010s. I listen to 97% K-pop these days, but I was keeping up with American pop music right up until the pandemic. Now I have absolutely no idea who’s popular.

I finished The Double last night, 10/10. Now I've started Flourished Peony because I always enjoy watching Wei Zhe Ming and Li Xian and peony cultivation could be interesting. I'm also starting Fangs of Fortune because the story of a demon hunting bureau is guaranteed to be unhinged fun.

J-Hope's North American tour dates have been announced at Weverse, but due to the impact of the California wildfires there are no ticketing details for the NA tour at this time.
I didn't get to see Agust D when he played here in 2022. I will see Hobi for sure this year.

I realized two things just now. One, I have watched 99 dramas, which means that when I finish The Double it will be my 100th drama in 2.25 years. Two, of those 99 dramas 75 were Korean and 24 were Chinese. I have never yet watched a Japanese or Thai drama. Will this be the year?

I bought a VIP ticket to see Omega X next month and I just found out that it entitles me to a group photo with them. That photo of tubby, gray-haired, 66 year old me beaming at the camera surrounded by 11 gorgeous, fancily dressed Korean idols will be my cover photo on social media *forever*.

Watched Jungkook’s live Times Square performance tonight from the comfort of my own living room and thought about how badly he wants to be a global pop icon. I think the kid’s gonna make it. But I can’t imagine wanting that much attention from the world.

I’m going to see Eric Nam in concert a week from today. I had to explain that to my Swedish teacher tonight since it means I’ll miss class, but I actually did it without much trouble…in Swedish, I mean. I’ve got the whole class trained as to the importance of K-pop in any case.

I am in Chile rethinking my life choices to study French and Swedish, neither of which do me any good outside of France or Sweden. But at least my high school Spanish is understood here, unlike Spain where I never knew what crazy meal I’d accidentally ordered thinking I knew what I was saying.

Sitting in the Sky Club at LAX and wondering when people stopped dressing up to fly First or Business class. The 1980s, maybe? I’m in a sweater and fancy sweatpants. A guy just walked past in a Hawaiian shirts and shorts. I don’t miss having to dress up depending on what cabin I was in, I must say.
