Over this cold weekend in Philadelphia, Fringe Fiction did get to watch a couple of movies: Else and Tarot. Else and Tarot are both worth a watch, but Else is the more interesting fare. Else is an interesting foreign movie where inanimate objects is merging with humanity. It is not quite body horror, and it does lean toward the artistic side, particularly toward the finale.

On this cloudy and cold weekend in Philadelphia, Fringe Fiction did get to watch a couple of movies: Black Phone 2 and Jurassic World: Rebirth. Both are watchable but not particularly noteworthy. Black Phone 2 follows the events of the original Black Phone whereby Finney Blake escaped from the Grabber. This film is an artsy follow-up to the original.

On this bright and chilly Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia, Fringe Fiction watched a couple of more movies. 57 Seconds and Wish both were solid. 57 Seconds is a solid movie that's worth a watch. There are multiple story lines that crosses into science fiction, aliens and technology gurus and their impact on society. The plot is relatively easy to follow, but it may get a little awkward toward the end.

CNN had an interview with Andrew Yang about universal basic income in the wake of layoffs from artificial intelligence (AI). Andrew Yang talks about the Freedom Dividend with a monthly check and requires no testing. He is optimistic that people will use that money to spend and build businesses. He also said that he declared that we will be heading toward a job market in the next ten years with increased unemployment.

On this cloudy and cold afternoon in Philadelphia, Fringe Fiction did get to watch a couple of movies -- notably, Red Sonja and Nutcracker and the Four Realms. Both were palatable movies but not spectacular ones. Red Sonja, starring Matilda Lutz, was a palatable fantasy movie but not great. The storyline, the villain and the acting didn't do this movie any favors.

On this wet Sunday in Philadelphia, Fringe Fiction did watch a couple of movies. The first being La-La Land and the second being The Conjuring: Last Rites. La La Land is worth a watch. The main theme song is catchy indeed, but it did not take shape until about the middle of the movie. The beginning of the movie was a bit lackluster in Fringe Fiction's opinion, but the movie picked up its pace and content toward the end.

Again, we can't appreciate how much your support means to us. Just to keep with the theme of Thanksgiving, you can always watch Thanksgiving on Amazon Prime. Not the best horror/slasher movie but definitely worth a watch.

On this cold and windy weekend in Philadelphia, Fringe Fiction did watch three movies: Nobody 2, Locked, and Facing Suicide. They are all worth a watch, but Nobody 2 may be worth a second. Nobody 2 may be arguably better than Nobody. In this movie, Bob Odenkirk return as Hutch Mansell when he brings his entire family on the way to Plummerville.

On this yet another sunny and almost perfect day in Philadelphia, Fringe Fiction did watch a couple of more movies over the weekend. We watched Scream VI and Kraven the Hunter. Both had potential but ultimately were passable and palatable to watch. Scream VI had an intriguing beginning and paid tribute to the past movies in the series. However, the movie kind of lost its way in Fringe Fiction's opinion.

Fringe Fiction did watch some movies this sunny but chilly day in Philadelphia. We watched The Substance, Heretic and Companion. All three are worth a watch, and all three lean on the artistic side of movies. Sophie Thatcher plays significant roles in the latter two -- Heretic and Companion. The Substance touches on a variety of topics including vanity, the modeling industry, body dysmorphia and other issues.

Over this sunny and relatively sunny weekend, Fringe Fiction watched a couple of movies: Weapons, Enemy of the State, and The S Word. All three are worth a watch. Weapons start out slowly and methodically but halfway the movie twists and turns into a movie about something somewhat unexpected. There is a bit of horror in the movie.

Over this sunny weekend in Philadelphia, Fringe Fiction watched a few good movies. First is Sinners. It is a bit of an unexpected film. More on that later. The recent Superman won't win accolades but it does pay tribute to past Superman films and reigns in parts of the DC Universe. The last is Wake Up: Sinners is an interesting musical-horror film about vampires and Southern folklore.

Plot Noah, James, Tyler and Karl are playing Truth or Dare. However, things go sinister later that night. Soon, James is interviewed by the police -- and the principal of his school for causing a public disruption. However, a girl comes to his aid to stop whatever is killing the children. Review Overall, a solid action-horror comic book. The comic didn't hold back on the gruesome parts.

Over this weekend, Fringe Fiction got several doses of Jason Statham over this weekend with A Working Man, The Beekeeper, Wrath of Man and Wild Card. This is our take on his films which he plays similar characters but in different environments (somewhat) and one-offs (at least Fringe Fiction is aware of). So let's begin! Jason Statham stars as Levon Cade, an ex-Royal Marine commando, and his mission in this film is to rescue his foreman's daughter from Russian human traffickers.

Plot This comic consists of three tales from the Franzettaverse: Death Dealer, Mothman and Dawn Attacks. In Death Dealer, the Death Dealer, a barbarian, is seeking to find his wife and child across the hostile land. He makes deals with a Sorceress, the Sorcerer Edrick and the Sea Witch to finally accomplish the task. In Mothman, the Ferrells try to explore what caused an explosion, and they soon discover a Mothman escaping with their dog Roscoe.

Plot Wonder Woman is battling in Eastern Europe in a border dispute driven by racial intolerance, religious extremism and political differences. Meanwhile, in Beijing, the Green Lanterns are holding their own. In New York, Cyborg tries to stop a calamity in the subway, and in San Francisco, the Flash is saving people in a city that is falling apart quickly. Lastly, comes Aquaman to the aid of the oceans below where crust is moving.

With fall coming upon us and football season as well, Fringe Fiction did watch three movies this weekend: Acid, 28 Years Later and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. Acid is an intriguing family drama set amidst of a possibility -- a catastrophic weather event involving acid rain. However, the United States and the EU nations have not gotten to the point of pollution of the skies.

Plot Elys Brucknor, Lieutenant of Lord Spinel's guard, and his two Wisps, Chirocype and Parrion, move across the remnants of Remmens Clearing. He discovers an spatial anomaly in the horizon. Later, General Celosia with her Wisp Wardigrade, Brey and her Baphomoth, Jon and his Dovmon, and lastly, Elys and his two Wisps go out to explore the spatial anomaly and walk through a mysterious doorway.

Plot Brother John Guyton is hunting down activists and reporters for he is the Hand of the Voice. Two years ago, John Guyton was homeless but someone offered him a hand, Brother Alexander Jones. Alexander and John talk over coffee how he is manipulated and guided by lies. And 15 months ago, Alexander has transferred his duties as the Hand of the Voice over to him as they are talking to David Allen Kite, a corporate mouthpiece per Voice.

Last Thursday, Philadelphia Eagles won their first game of the 2025-2026 season over the Dallas Cowboys 24-20 but not without penalties and fines. It was a relatively quiet game on both sides despite the score. Miles Sanders, the former Philadelphia Eagle, was quite productive in the game and seemed to be a spark for the Cowboys. Plot This comic books consists of three tales: Jim Henson's Fraggle Rock: Beauty is in the Pie of the Beholder, Farscape: Last One There's a Rotten Food Cube, and Jim Henson's Dark Crystal: The Heretic and the Wanderer. In Beauty is the Pie of the Beholder, Red, Wembley and others help Boober with his signature radish onion pie during the holidays.

Today is indeed Labor Day. Hope everyone has been enjoying their weekend! Fringe Fiction did watch a few more movies. We watched Mickey 17, Zombiology: Enjoy Yourself Tonight and The Hunted. Mickey 17 is a strange and somewhat methodically paced science-fiction drama. Although it attempts to discuss the issue of individualism somewhat, this movie had a strange pacing to the film.

Over this sunny weekend in Philadelphia, Fringe Fiction did watch three movies: Megan 2.0, From the World of John Wick: Ballerina and Elevation.
