The San Remo Building in watercolour. The Actor Steve Martin married his wife and knocked the two adjacent apartments together. When they got devoured he separated them again. #watercolour #newyork

The Civic Hall in London in watercolour. It sits on the Colosseum of London. I have been told the Mayor of the City of London’s office is in the position of the Roman ambassador’s box where he decided if gladiators lived and died. #watercolour

Watercolour Autumn in New York. You know there is a secret room underneath the Bow Bridge in Central Park? #watercolour

A house in Cambridge. It was actually home to John Stanley Gardiner, Professor of Zoology, and his wife Edith Gertrude Gardiner, a biochemist. Personalities in Cambridge and raised chickens here. It’s now part of Wolfson College. #watercolour

The cast iron facade of the Haughwout Building in New York. It had the first elevator ever invented which travelled really slowly and was hydraulically powered. It actually used to flood- new fear unlocked! 😂 #watercolour

Watercolour of how modern architecture and nature can blend so well. St. Catherine’s is quite new only 60 years old. Infact the first student were know “Dirty Thirty” due to the lack of running hot water, a quirk of its modernist architecture at the time.

St Hilda’s College, Oxford in watercolour. A ladies College they have some lovely old rules, such as restrictions on playing the harpsichord after 10 pm or placing teapots on the lawn! #watercolour

Watercolour of the Flatiron building New York. The original elevators were water-powered hydraulic lifts, which were extremely slow and even could flood! #watercolour

A few buildings in the Cotswolds watercoloured. Melt in mouth buttery stone. Yum! #watercolour

Petworth House. It’s so bloody long and like a Russian doll has the older structures behind it! #watercolour

The Rosewood Hotel. One of London’s best with this lovely courtyard. I painted some of it using a syringe which is novel. Learn this technique here www.patreon.com/posts/141701...

Carlton Hill in Edinburgh. The Athens of the North. I don’t know if that’s something I heard or just made up now but it seems bang on! #watercolour

New College in Oxford. Only Oxford could name a college ‘new’ when it was founded in 1350. Haunted by Reverend William Archibald Spooner, famous for “Spoonerisms.” More funny than terrifying 😂 #watercolour #oxford

Views from Shad Thames. Love this spot, so many tourists it makes you feel like you are the one on holiday. Shad Thames apparently named after a fish. Never seen a Shad before hope never do do so. #watercolour #watercolor #london

Whitehall. Britians beating civic heart. War and taxes are all organised from here. A whole street of it with more statues than you can shake a stick at. Makes for quite a wonderful walk on a Sunday. #watercolour

Streets of Hampstead. Apparently Ryan Gosling has just moved there. Can’t blame him, it’s beautiful place especially in autumn. #watercolour

Durham cathedral watercolour with a warning about Scots!

Watercolour of Liberty in early evening. The building is made from the timbers of an old war ship. The frontage of the store is the same length as the HMS Hindustan, and the wooden floorboards under your feet are the old ship decks. #watercolour #london

A walk around Paris with a brush….. tell me what to paint next! #watercolour

Watercolour of the Eagle and Child. It is best known as the meeting place for the Inklings, a group that included famed authors J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. It's a place where many famous works were discussed. Apparently some of the books on the wall have secret messages in them. #watercolour #art
