Birds are born to fly and choose their own lives, not stand tethered for display. Captivity takes away flight, space and choice. No enclosure can meet their needs. They belong in the sky, not on a perch.

Hands-on isn’t harmless. Being passed around and touched by crowds is stressful for reptiles and can cause injury. Handling sessions also teach children that individuals are objects.

A “fun day out” can mean stress for the individual on stage. Animals in circuses are moved from town to town and made to perform unnatural tricks under bright lights and loud crowds. That isn’t entertainment. It is exploitation.

In zoos, when someone no longer fits available space or breeding plans, they may be labelled ‘surplus’ and killed by zoos or transferred away. Families are disrupted, and individuals pay with their lives.
