There are widespread reports of ICE agents abducting people while masked, without warrants or identification. Due to recent events, we strongly advise: do not open your door or car for anyone you don’t know. That’s the message. No need to elaborate.

It’s hard to get out of bed in the morning. I prob shouldn’t look at my phone as soon as I wake up to see the current horrors.

Lost a great woman in my life. We are not perfect beings, but we all try in our own ways. RIP.

Today is my mom’s birthday. I lost her in 2005. While the ache has gotten easier over time, I’m missing her big-time today.

I’ve lived almost half my life without her. And that just makes me incredibly sad today.

It was a quick sighting, but a sure sign of spring.

The groundhog is back.

Watered a bunch of my houseplants tonight - which makes for a great mindfulness activity. 🩷

P.S. my monstera is now taller than me.

It’s time to start playing, “is my plant dead” in the garden. First round: I’ve noticed some of my snowdrop bulbs - that have been in the garden for many years - have not appeared this year. I’m hoping I didn’t lose them because other snowdrops in different areas are up and blooming already. 🤨

It is understandable that you
feel unwell,
for you live in sickening times:
the state of the world
will nauseate you,
the fear for the future
will exhaust you,
the spreading viruses
will infect you,
in these sickening times
what would be worrisome
is if you felt fine.

How do you stop yourself from spiraling when you see the news? How do you balance staying informed?

Trying to figure out if it is hard to get out bed today because I’m exhausted, having an existentialist crisis or just anxious. Or all of the above.

One of the dreams I can recall from a few days ago was how my garden was transformed into an entire moonlit flower garden, complete with a giant moonflower plant along my driveway. It seemed totally natural. No idea what any of this means. 🌙

I asked the professor
if she is still wearing a mask
in her classes
and she said: yes,
she is still wearing a mask
in her classes,
mainly to avoid getting sick
but also so that this way
none of her students
can say that they
don’t know anyone
who is still wearing a mask.

Right now the list for growing my own food this year stands at lettuce, bok choy, micro and determinate tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, cukes, beans and peas. I’m trying to be realistic about what we eat and not devote space to something we don’t love.
