At the time xenomorphs had a closed shop on horror films and Alien had to be written as science fiction to get round this.
Fun fact: For the movie Alien, they actually used a man in a practical suit because the studio was unable to afford a real Xenomorph.

Always a surprise that TRex were a one hit wonder in the US. Marc had his own TV show before he died, he was huge. I’d recommend ‘Children of the Revolution’ as a starting point.
