Dear God, when my brain starts to feel frantic, help me to slow down, be attentive, and find the stillness. May I embrace the gift of silence when it is available. Help me to resist pulling out my phone to occupy that space in those valuable moments. Amen.

We’ve been told the surgery is finished. It was slow but there were no problems. Just waiting to hear when we can go and see her in the recovery room before they transfer her to her main room.

It’s 5am in Dusseldorf on the day of Selah’s surgery. We’re confident after a long discussion with the surgeon yesterday. She’ll begin the process at 7:30am. It will take 4-5hrs. It’s big and the coming days will be a huge emotional journey 🙏🏼 Thank you for all your support.

Part of the daily morning prayer from the monks of Glenstal Abbey in Ireland:

Glory be to God who has shown us the light.
Lead me from darkness to light,
Lead me from sadness to joy,
Lead me from death to immortality,
Glory be to God who has shown us the light.

Thinking about the little piggies - there's the one that went to market, the one who stayed home... the final one went wee, wee, wee etc, but the one who had roast beef intrigues me - was it a power play towards the other farm animals, particularly the cows? I mean that other piggy had none, so…

Thank you so much! A few moments ago, across our bank account & Givealittle we hit the 70k goal. Done in 3 days thanks to hundreds of donors. We did not expect that to happen so fast. I deeply appreciate the support 🙏🏼🥹 Now we wait to see if our funding application is successful.
Kia ora koutou, due to 30k being directly donated to our bank in the last 48hrs, I have reduced our Givealittle target. Thank you for all the support so far! It has been immense. If our funding application is unsuccessful, the target is going to increase again significantly.
I've shared this over on the other site because I need the reach I have there, but I'm really thankful to see others have shared it here and people are donating and resharing. Thank you so much! We can't do this without our big, supportive, generous community givealittle.co.nz/cause/suppor...

Well that went badly. Miscommunication so she wasn’t sedated as planned. She was brave & wanted to try. Her tube is knotted so they can’t get it out. Tried sedating her. Still too much pain. Back in the ward now and they’ll have another go under general anaesthetic. Now waiting for that. Poor thing.
5th day in hospital with this young warrior waiting for a 20 minute procedure. Staff are wonderful. Wait problem compounded by long weekend, unclear process, severe understaffing. She has shed many tears. Waiting sucks up resources. Finally booked for 11am today if it doesn’t get bumped 🙏🏼

As a family, over the last few months we've been dealing with a health issue that has become all consuming. If I've cancelled appointments with you or not seemed to be functioning at full capacity here's why.... patreon.com/posts/our-da... pic.twitter.com/XVOcgfy4Lf

However the RWC final plays out, a big thanks to Ian Foster and Sam Cane for soaking up all the condemnation over the last few years, for making changes where necessary, and clearly holding belief in this team all the way. The hard times build resilience. You are legends of the game.

This long weekend remember to take a daytime nap at least once, if not on all 3 days. Luxury.

I know many enjoyed last night’s debate because it was ‘exciting’ but I just feel sad. We have many deep divisions in our nation at the moment and our political system too easily celebrates combat that deepens that division. It promotes demonising and dehumanising our ‘opponent’.

I like that this looks, feels, and operates much like Twitter used to. It just needs the DMs 🙂
