When billionaires plan to survive the fall of society with bunkers and Mars colonies, they are preparing for a secular rapture.

Some of them want this enough to try and bring it about. Read Peter Thiel, listen to Musk. We empower people who think our destruction is their kingship.

As a Buddhist I've learned it doesn't matter who suffers, all suffering is wrong.

We are forced into bigger houses by zoning laws. Pressured into larger cars for an illusion of safety. Legislated into the most expensive healthcare. Our education is dumbed down to make us compliant. When do we stand up and scream NO MORE!!!

I believe rigid social roles based on gender are inefficient and exist to protect those currently in power. I also think the historic makeup of the nuclear family works. It isn't the framework of the nuclear family that is wrong, it's rigidly enforcing it on everyone that is.

There is an aspect of our car dependent society that few mention, cars all but guarantee intersection between poor people and police. Poor people are constantly reminded of the power of the state, the precarious position poverty forces them into. It keeps us in our place.

When work experience in high school equals extracurriculars, in an hour by hour basis, this will be a big step towards removing the advantage of generational wealth. The same is true with ending unpaid internships.

I want diversity because it is strength. I want diversity because it is entertaining, it makes for better art. I want diversity because it is the byproduct of freedom, it takes authoritarianism to enforce monoculture. I want diversity because I understand evolution.

The right says tariffs will bring back manufacturing, and they are okay if this causes things to get more expensive and people can not afford them. Why? Because manufacturing is a manly job and deserves higher pay, while service jobs are sector is feminine and doesn't. This is the dumbest time-line.

When a wild animal kills someone, it is easier to understand they did it because they don't know better. When a person who know physics and philosophy kills, it is difficult to understand they know ethics no better than an animal.

The Trump administration isn't building infrastructure to deport millions. They are giving out billion dollar contracts to deport thousands. The high profile, illegal deportations are to give the illusion of mass deportation. He's also slowly eroding people's expectations for following the law.

The lack of imagination that thinks humanity as one people needs to be one culture is how you get fascism. Hidden behind the evil of fascism is a boring banality. Diversity is strength and it's creative. In the US fascist ended our moto, out of many, one. We should take it back.

Many Buddhist focus on attachment over desire or craving. This seems like a way to avoid the difficult steps of the Path. Instead of giving up or moderation, instead of renunciation, you just say they don't care as much and keep the same things in their life.

It seems like Republicans try and destroy every success a Democratic President has presided over, while Democrats bend over backwards to help Republicans. There is no reason other than spite to end the Department of Education, yet it is the goal Republicans have.

Trump wants to undo all of his predecessors' accomplishments. One of Bidens big pushes was to cure cancer. Now, Trumo is actively trying to undo cancer treatments. Who voted for this?

Mandating an ID to vote is just a poll tax with extra steps.

Set up a toll-free number that will help people with every step of getting an ID that cost them nothing, then it stops being a poll tax.

Every now and then, I buy a lottery ticket, not because I think I'll win, I understand odds. Whatever I end up daydreaming about, this is what I work towards trying to do but without millions of dollars. It's surprising how many of the things I day dream about are attainable.

Trump is complaining that China has too much influence in Central America. His response is to threaten to steal their property, which will give China even more influence in th America's. When given a choice between doing business and someone stealing from you, it's not a tough choice.

Here is what's wrong with the United States. Poor people buy into capitalism thinking we get ahead through competition. While wealthy people cooperate to keep their workers poor. Worst, the wealthy use the government, benefiting from socialism, while convincing their workers socialism is evil.
