Thanks @majorseventh.bsky.social and EIC @keersteemack.bsky.social for putting my Joni-Mitchell-inspired poem on repeat (and for publishing it in the first place!)
ON REPEAT: @francesboyle19.bsky.social in Volume 21.
A poem as delicate as it is electric. We love this one.

I'm delighted that my first 2026 acceptance is from the wonderful print magazine @stanchion.bsky.social edited by Jeff Bogle. I've been submitting to them for several years and glad my poem "Misty Mountain" landed. It will appear in the upcoming Music themed issue 21. Available for pre-order now!

By chance, two (fine) books I just finished are by profs at University of Regina, where I did my B.A. looong ago. Melanie Schnell's novel blends buried secrets, little-known history and environmental magic. @jesbattis.bsky.social's poetry collection is strong, witty and very moving.

My penultimate 2025 reading, next Monday Dec 15. I'll be reading from work once rejected, and ultimately published. This slate of "refused" readers is stellar: half are friends whose writing I know and admire, the rest are friends yet to be met! If you're in Ottawa, it'd be great to see you there.

Read 2 poems from Melissa Powless Day's new collection: wildroofjournal.substack.com/p/a-bow-forg...

It's a journey of Indigenous reclamation, exploring identity, belonging, responsibility & wholeness. The author navigates her ties to the landscapes of SW Ontario & the nations to which she belongs.

Here's my poem for the Hallows, and for my mother who would have turned 105 today.
Like many other poems in Openwork and Limestone, my most recent book, this brings together the mythic/deep time with the familial/personal.

This book is such a great read! Meticulously researched history meets beautifully imagined magic.
Got a royalty statement and my 2022 novel The Embroidered Book continues to outsell my later books, partly because it had momentum out of the gate, but at this point those sales are word of mouth, which is cool. If you fancy a big novel about Marie Antoinette and her sister as rival magicians, here:

Happy that my poem "Day Break" is in Anacapa Review, thanks to guest editor Santa Barbara Poet Laureate @gyatchisin.bsky.social. I learned of the mag when Ottawa poet friends David O'Meara & Katherine Leyton had work in the prior issue so I took the chance to submit. anacapareview.com/frances-boyle/
