I am sick at heart. Republicans with Musk-Trump are turning the US into a white, straight man country, apartheid South Africa. I am embarrassed for our country, never thought I would feel that. I am so angry, so distressed. We fought hard for the many rights we have, and they are being trampled.

Well, trying to not let myself get wound up didn't last long. After Trump called firefighters incompetent, the Republicans are now saying they will attach strings to our tax money being sent to help pay for the fire disaster. When it is their state they can't get their hands out fast enough. I cry.

I am sick in my heart with Trump and MAGA vileness. I try to not follow every headline, or react to everything he/they say/do but its hard. I remember last time, how upset I got. Am determined to resist, not ignore, but also not to be constantly swept up. Hope this will make my life better.

I was upset when Trump was elected, but now we find out that Musk bought him the election and feels he can run the country. I was really trying to convince myself that we could get through 4 years - not certain we can.

Just finished @cjtudor.bsky.social "The Chalk Man". So glad she introduced herself on Bluesky. Found a new author to read. Chalk Man was a really interesting murder mystery, my favorite genre. Now to the library find more of her work.

I am really trying hard, very hard not to react to everything that Trump says or does. But Kash Patel as FBI Director. There will be nothing that he won't investigate for Trump. I am sick.

Bluesky is getting better and better. I feel like I am staying up with the news, but not going down every rabbit hole. Then the next post is the moon, or a cat, or a dog, etc and I am calm again.
