“I can’t vote for the most successful coach of all time because I had to vote for QB who never won a Super Bowl instead.”
Welp.

Here’s Vahe Gregorian’s explanation for leaving Bill Belichick off the ballot. Not sure this justifies the outcome, but he explains his decision and it feels like another indictment of the current process …

Bill Belichick belongs in the Hall of Fame. But here’s why I didn’t vote for him
If Pro Football Hall of Fame voters were allowed a simple up-down vote on Belichick, he’d most likely have been a first-ballot selection.

This is perhaps the saddest thing I’ve ever seen. Not an athlete in the bunch, and no, it’s not a surprise.
Hegseth had cameras recording him working out with recruits today at UCLA

I know everyone’s going to say it should be Vrabel but Brian Schottenheimer should be coach of the year. Cowboys have better wins. Patriots schedule is pathetic.

I like to wait until the play is over then form my opinion based on whether it worked. I’ve never gotten it wrong

Also played through a serious ankle injury suffered in game one (Penn State), where they ran 35 straight plays because of the injury), with an interim head coach (who was also the OC). Those games included: @ PSU, @ Maryland, @ OSU, Iowa (CG), Alabama (CFP), Washington (CFP). Unheard of!

The Athletic also employs an army of college football writers who, if a top team starts slowly, will post “Uh, Texas?”

“Poor man wants to be rich. Rich man wants to be king.” Trump’s political life began as an internet crank. Monkey see, monkey do.

No reason for Arsenal to hang heads today. Extremely positive performance, just didn’t get the goal. It’s a long season and they have 35 weeks to get it back. Madueke was fantastic, Calafiori and Zubi as well

It’s amazing how the inventors of college football knew 150 years in advance that we’d need it in 2025 to distract from Epstein. Someone check the Rutgers team photo for images of Biff Tannen

In the NCAA, snitches stay bitches. Criminals get to face their accusers.
This is all the NCAA says about how it became aware of the Michigan sign-stealing scheme.

Hulk Hogan was the third man to the bitter end. RIP Bobby Heenan
Terry Bollea, who shot to superstardom as wrestler Hulk Hogan and whose tabloid-centric private life became a legal battleground, has died, World Wrestling Entertainment said. He was 71. wapo.st/415vTfN

Chelsea popping off about winning the UEFA League One is like a guy winning the Masters in 2021, failing to qualify for the tour in 2025 then bragging how he’s the only major champion to ever win a Korn Ferry event. Everyone would laugh at that guy.
