Omg! I got to hang out with the most adorable little kids today. I took my kiddo to the skate park and this tiny little girl followed her brother out there to play near him while he rolled around on his scooter. I asked her grandma if she would mind if I kinda looked after her and keep her safe. 👍🏽

Well, I’m officially a bear dancer in the Lakota tradition. We don’t take any pictures of our ceremonies once the fire is lit, but I managed to take one picture before that of one of our dancers hanging her prayer ties in the west.

I went to one of our local festivals on Saturday. They had this beautiful statue called “lady Helene”…a compassionate grief goddess type figure that cries when you water her hair and whose hands will hold a human and a container for their grief. ❤️

Happy indigenous people’s day my friends. Of course I went to an “inipi kaga” sweat lodge today to honor the original people of this land, to remember that we are all walking on sacred ground. We are bound to this mother. I pray that we can collectively learn to take better care of her.

Pics of me 2 days before I blew out my shoulder…3 weeks ago. Finally out of a sling now and deep in physical therapy. Going to try to put off surgery till January. We will see what the surgeon thinks about that idea on Wednesday

Welp, I got an appointment scheduled next week with an orthopedic surgeon to look at my shoulder. I know it’s a mess in there so I’m not really expecting a lot of good news. Hopefully there will at least be a good path forward. 🤞🏽

They are teaching my son in school that gravity is the force of attraction between two massive objects. That is so wrong it kinda pisses me off. That is Newton’s law of gravitation…which has long since been replaced in the physics and science community by Einstein’s theory of general relativity 😡

Well, as of today it has officially been 1 year since the hurricane. Signs of life have slowly been reemerging from the ruins. Hope still lingers in the air as we push through the grief and back into our purpose. We are resilient and we have each other. #wncstrong

Ooof! My shoulder popped out of socket at work today. This has been an ongoing issue that has happened sporadically since a really bad accident 13 years ago where I got hit by a car as a pedestrian… every time it happens is justifiably a little bit triggering. Fuuuck

A 12 hour day of crafting regalia for a bear dance is good for the spirit. Made a couple of rattles, worked on my bear robe, and custom making t-shirts to order for 50+ people… 😁 🐻
