The Turtles sneaking there way into prerelease kits, then resulting in Wizards releasing the whole set-list is SO DAMN Thematic I can't help but think it was on purpose.

Mana base investment is always good for new players. You always need good lands to cast spells.
Tip for new players, pick up the shocklands from lorwyn. They are very cheap and shocklands are ALWAYS GOOD, In every format they are legal in!
