Hey y'all, I'm Fox! I'm a documentary photographer from rural Utah, currently living in Montana. I work with large format black and white film, and darkroom prints.
It was raining as I drove up this canyon, searching for a campsite. Failing to find an angle for a particular tree, I drove past this Clematis vine, and immediately stopped to photograph it, getting soaked in the process.

When taking this photo, I couldn't stop thinking of the parallels between Granite, #Montana and Park City, Utah, which I grew up outside of. Both have a history of silver mining, and both became ghost towns after silver prices plunged in the 1950s. One still is.

I don't often care for color photography, even with fall colors. However, sometimes subjects like these Thimbleberries just feel deserving of color film.

Soon I'll be back in Utah to photograph in the southern portion of the state. Until then, however, this photo of Dead Horse Lake and Mount Beulah will have to suffice.

The photo was made using Ilford Delta 100 on 4x5" sheet film, and is printed on 16x20" Ilford Multigrade paper.
