Living an interesting life is better than living in interesting times.
The world is awful, but I learned about Banana Ball yesterday and seeing people have such silly fun brought me a few hours of joy. Sure, I seem to be the last person in America to hear of it. That just meant there were a lot of video clips to watch for the first time that others saw years ago.

It is effed up that when I open mainstream web browsers like Microsoft Edge, one of the stories I get served is which US state would best survive nuclear fallout.

Planting a public flag that no-one will see.

Today is the day that I urgently need to stop drinking.

Oh good grief. One side of social media tells me that Trump's approval is cratering and the other is telling me that it is higher than ever.

I fear the American carnage Trump often talks about is just around the corner.

I'm going to plant a prediction flag. The coup we are seeing today is only the first coup. More will follow.

There are two types of people. The first can see how actions taken by Elon and Trump are going to cause exceptional harm and feel desperate to stop that from happening. The second needs to experience harm firsthand before feeling desperate. Eventually, everyone will be desperate. Give it time.

I might not particularly like President Trump, but I've always taken him at his word. He doesn't hide his intentions. People who are 'surprised' by what he does chose not to listen to what he was clearly telling them.

Regarding the tragic DC air accident by Regan Airport, this app is a leftie version of MAGA armchair fire fighting experts today.

Does Vegas have any betting categories for how long it takes the wheels to fall off the American bus?

I would like to see a serious analysis of how today's federal freeze impacts individual states and sectors.

Is today the day that the world goes to shite? Or does it start tomorrow?

Huh. I barely post but have gotten six new followers in the last 24 hours. Hello, icky bots! 👋

I REALLY regret spending a small fortune on a Harvest Right freeze dryer. Bought it a month ago but can't sell it because it isn't working. For my thousands, I got one load of dried cheese (delicious) and about three stew's worth of dried roast chicken. Then everything went ffffft. Do. Not. Buy.

A US media worthy of being called the Fourth Estate would be grilling lawmakers about national food security, the national supply chain, national security, and other real issues re what the GOP has in store. Instead, we get bread and circuses.

When the government shuts down, remember this Christmas of no paychecks, snarled air travel, and the humiliation of the United States has been brought to you by unelected President Elon Musk, unelected Vice President Vivek Ramaswamy, and Speaker Johnson. MAGA!

The truth is that America is moldering. The people who voted for Trump because they wanted something better were idiotic but their impulse wasn't completely wrong.

A lot of young adults don't understand how truly terrifying 9/11 was. When Trump guts our national security departments of people who know what they are doing...I guess they'll learn.

I wish people knew history better. We are about to repeat so much of it all at once.

Can someone please explain why the Project 2025 brain trust wants to get rid of Homeland Security and the FBI?

It is really fucked up that at least half the country is feeling abject terror about what is to come.
