It’s soup season! So I never thought too much about the French soup base “mirepoix” that is recommended until I tried tonight. My vegetable soup came out amazing!

TGIF. What gorgeous weather today in Chicago. Decided to check the popular Gyu-Kaku Japanese bbq in Lakeview. The marinade for the meats was tasty and fresh for the grill. They had quite a few options on the menu but of course I chose AYCE. 😋

Just a heads up for anyone that are green card holders and planning to travel outside of the U.S.

Decided to make home made wontons today and try out the hack with the zip lock bag. Definitely made it easier just squeezing out but sadly I got the wrong wrapper. Used dumpling instead of wonton wrappers which is thicker and harder to close. Still pretty good though. Practice makes perfect. 😅

Spring is around the corner. Don’t forget to change your clocks ahead an hour. While we wait, it’s nice to enjoy a hot bowl of pho noodle soup even though I would have this even during summer. 😅

Glad to be back home in Chicago to continue celebrating Lunar fest with more eating! Can’t skip out on having some of the best Peking duck in the city at Sun Wah Bbq.

When in NYC have to hit an all you can eat place at least once. Decided to check out K City hot pot and sushi. Overall great selection for hot pot and Korean bbq. The sushi was decent. The stir fry was meh. But definitely going back again next. Good service as well.

Checking out this new dim sum place for me in Queens, NY. Definitely better than most places I been. 😋
