I appear to have gained a few hundred followers as a result of being part of an autism starter pack, so maybe now is a good time to do some kind of introduction to my life and work in that realm.

Hi! I'm an autistic writer who covers autism, pop culture and the middle of that Venn diagram.

Today is a good day to remember, and to say, that the #MeToo movement was right, and was righteous, and has been vindicated over and over again. There was no overreach. There was no excess. There was no they-went-too-far.

So much work remains to be done.

When I think back to some of the delightfully weird stuff that Mina was doing as early as her TJPW days and look at where she is now, it makes me believe that you really do find your people in life.

Aaron watched an episode of The Young Ones for the first time in his 53 years. How did a man with his musical tastes and his wife's television tastes take this long to watch it? Fucked if I know. His verdict? "There was a lot going on there."

Not seeing this being referred to as a white male grooming gang, which it is.
This article is utterly damning for the New York Times and also for Vanity Fair and ABC, whose editorial teams were apparently intimidated into silence by a mix of legal and violent threats. Virginia Giuffre did not stand a chance against all this.
This story by @davidfolkenflik.bsky.social about Landon Thomas, former NYT reporter now appearing in the latest email tranche, soliciting a $30k contribution from Jeffrey Epstein?

Yes, you can read it here

The same goes for me. But be warned, I’ll start pushing Inside No. 9 pretty hard when you get to series 17 and 20.
If I even kind of know you and you start watching Taskmaster you can ask for my number when you get to the “I only want to talk about Taskmaster” phase

Everyone knows English coms are full of shit, though…
I'm watching DDT Ultimate Party and the English commentary crew called Daisuke Sasaki was "A Total Asshole and drunk who always seems to be broke." They also implied he was a liar.

I'm waiting for @fodderfigure.bsky.social to sue.

In a lot of ways, it echoes life, as wrestling often does. But that doesn't make it easier to accept. Or less frustrating to remember that the rich can easily intrude on the happiness of others. The rich define possibility. Its up to us to reject it. I'm glad Tanahashi spoke about this.

And I'm not talking about the possibility of them meeting in NOAH so don't try to come at me with that. And I'm not blaming a specific party. I'm talking about how billionaires make us say the word "impossible". They're both alive and they want to see each other. There shouldn't be impossibilities.

Idk. Something I keep thinking about is how wrestling is filled with tragedy. How many dream matches and retirement matches will simply never happen due to death or injury or illness. And when such impossibilities exist, it's hard to hear Tanahashi describe the Shinsuke match as being "impossible".

Is it just my pro-Reece Shearsmith bias talking, or is Chasing Shadows slightly better than the average autistic coded detective show?

I found out about this trend where men on dating sites seek “slightly autistic” women. I got mad. I wrote about it.
“What are they doing dyeing their hair blue if they don’t plan on being my mummytherapist? That’s blatant false advertising. Be Kate Winslet in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind or be nothing.”

Some of you call yourself DDT fans, but do you even have an autographed set of Toru Owashi spoons?

A lot of people who have never, ever shown any interest in Tana before sure have a lot to stay right now.

9 years ago today, Robert Vaughn died and I built a shrine and not all members of my household appreciated it.

My favourite part of the Bond discourse is that every autistic person I’ve seen has been like “you’re overthinking it, bro.”

If an autistic person is telling you The Lore doesn’t matter, the lore really doesn’t matter.

The Inside No. 9 theatrical production Stage/Fright is wrapping up with a final set of shoes at the Hammersmith Apollo in early January.

If you're a fan of Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith at all and you have the means, I recommend getting tickets and getting your ass to London to see it.

Fun update: they fixed the heat this morning and then it broke again.
I've been in a new, allegedly fancy rental building for a 41 days now and in that time:

-we've had to reset our fobs 1-2 each
-the heat has broken twice
-the microwave that came with the unit has blown a fuse 29038423904820 times
-we've seen at least 5 traffic jams due to broken elevators

I meant to post this last week and got distracted.
I love that Endo took a moment out of an otherwise completely selfless performance to remind everyone that he can do a flawless 450 senton from a stationary position and be a little bitch to his elders.

Ok, what do you think Pemberton and Shearsmith's forthcoming announcement is? More Stage/Fright dates? Stage/Fright recording? Christmas special? New show??

In other autism trials, Aaron bought different laundry soap than usual. I was open to this change until I realized that the soap smells exactly like one specific gift shop in Las Vegas and while I enjoy the little memory rush, it is making my brain glitch and I'm not sure I want to smell like that.
