25yrs ago I spent quiet a lot of time in Russia. Friends use to say that Putin was a dictator, although we in the west hadnt fully grasped that reality at the time. Today in the US, I'm getting the same vibes. In some respects a lot worse - as a non native, even in Russia, I didnt feel this unsafe.

When I moved here 15yrs ago the US seemed to be a country of hope. Today has shown how far it has fallen. A President who doesn't want to unite his own ppl and is too corrupt and deranged to want that anyway. Darker days ahead.

In the real world any other administration would have done a tenth of the corruption of this Trump administration to execute its own own downfall.
I think at this point, nobody is doing it solely just for Trump. They are so far down the rabbit hole of corruption there is just no way of turning back.

Please stop calling it Alligator Alcatraz. Alcatraz was a prison built to home violent criminals. Alligator Auschwitz is far more fitting of its real purpose to intern and strip the basic human rights away from people, for many, whose only crime was a dream of a better life.

As the current Trump administration obviously hasn't a clue, I suspect it never occurred to them that by backing Iran into a corner the prospects of them using a dirty bomb against us in retaliation have just grown substantially.

Time for Europe to grow a pair and stand shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine on the battlefield. Today, you saw the US administration admit its alignment with Putin with their treatment of Zelensky...if the UN vote earlier in the week wasn't enough with the US siding with Russia, Iran and N. Korea.

Anybody who still thinks that the checks and balances, rule of law or constitution will in some way will still save the US, clearly haven't learnt from history.

Some of my friends are Russian ex-pats, and nearly 20yrs ago they were saying how Putin was a dictator, before the West realized. Those same people are now saying the same thing about Trump, except most of them point out he is far more open about his intentions than Putin ever was.
