This is something people are missing: the pro-autarky folks are totally okay with things getting more expensive as long as people get employed.

This is something people are missing: the pro-autarky folks are totally okay with things getting more expensive as long as people get employed.
More expensive things are a feature of autarky. Overall GDP goes down but the theory is that distribution of income goes up as people get paid to produce things that are once again made here.
