You want to know how you undermine Democratic progress and resistance to fascism? This is how.
Dick Cheney was not a "devoted public servant". He was an opportunistic schemer, power junkie, and war criminal who actively advocated the erosion of civil rights in the name of "security". Do better.

Remember the death panels Republicans told us Obamacare would force on Americans, culling the old, weak and sick in the name of socialism?
Turns out they're such a bad idea, the Trump regime is putting AI in charge of them and incentivizing private contractors to deny coverage. tinyurl.com/ys5wt7me
Medicare will start using AI to help make coverage decisions next year
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will use AI to help make prior authorization decisions.

If you had told me in November 2016 that a decade later we'd be watching a pedophile felon build a private army to throw legal immigrants in black prisons while commanding state legislatures to gerrymander his party into permanent control of Congress... I would totally have believed you.

When billionaires can decide the course of wars between democratic nations and autocracies, we aren't living in a free society. (Of course, we haven't been for decades, but it becomes less easy to lie to ourselves about it). www.reuters.com/investigatio...
Musk ordered shutdown of Starlink satellite service as Ukraine retook territory from Russia
A previously unreported order by Elon Musk to cut satellite communications over a portion of Ukraine disrupted a counteroffensive by Kyiv in the autumn of 2022. Reuters investigated the billionaire's order and its implications for countries increasingly reliant on his Starlink internet service.

There are reasons I love my country of origin. Its treatment of Trump is one of them.

Living in a Kentucky media market, it's fascinating to see Thomas Massie, a gun-nut Trumpist stalwart, transformed into a radical Democrat by superPAC ads for voting against the Big Fascist Bill. There is no middle ground in the Republican ranks- you're either their kind of patriot or a traitor.

It's virtually certain that when future historians write about the collapse of the United States, they will point to the enablement of an imperial presidency by the corrupt and subservient Roberts court as a primary cause.

Recently saw a Substack headline re Trump diminishing the power of Congress.
The problem is, it's not Trump making Congress less powerful- it's his toadies in both houses gleefully surrendering their right to exercise checks and balances, and removing the brakes on the slide to dictatorship.

Who would have thought telling your conspiracy-theorist cultists, who you've lied to for decades, that the truth about you is conspiracy theories and lies, wouldn't work?

Mike Johnson on Texas flood deaths: "all we can do is pray."
Well, no, Mike, you could have opposed your incompetent Fuhrer's defunding of FEMA, NOAA and the NWS. You could have insisted on proper funding allocations for emergency services.
But you're in a cult, and the prophet said no.
July 6, 2025 at 10:04 PM
Texas government is blaming the flooding disaster in San Antonio on an incomplete and inaccurate weather forecast from NOAA.
Not a word, however, about how the Trump regime slashed NOAA and NWS budgets below reliability levels.
You reap what you sow. These deaths are Trump's fault.

The BBC describes the Bezos wedding as "A-List glamour".
Is that how we're pronouncing "shameless toadying to the oligarchs who are destroying democracy" today?

When is anybody with a national platform going to address the fact that the President is breaking down mentally, in public, on social media, daily? 25th amendment or not, the man is not cognitively fit to serve and needs to step down.

I want to be clear about something.
It's good that Rep. Thomas Massie(R-KY) opposes Trump's lunatic Iran war.
This does not make Massie- a virulent homophobe, civil rights denier and 2A fanatic- a hero.
It just means he's doing his job.
Support his stand. Don't idolize him.

Kegseth and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs on a press conference telling the world that
1. Trump didn't tell Congress or the forces in the area before starting a war.
2. Hegseth has no plan for what to do next.
3. They simply assumed Iran would surrender immediately.

Impeach them all now.
June 22, 2025 at 12:33 PM
So much for two weeks. The President of the United States just started a war with Iran without authorization or a declaration of war from Congress.
This is an impeachable act.

Secretary of Kidnapping Immigrants Kristi Noem is trying to tell members of Congress they have to give 72 hours' notice before inspecting ICE facilities.
Which part of "Congressional oversight" isn't clear here? The entity being overseen does not get to dictate terms to the oversight body.

This amounts to an admission by the Trump regime that they WERE in fact just arresting anyone who fit their racial and ethnic profile.
And God forbid anyone, like maybe a US Senator, have the temerity to ask a question at a public press conference about their actions.
Up to 96% of undocumented immigrants have jobs.

Trump is realizing that deporting millions of workers would crush the economy, so we’re back to “undocumented immigrants are good if companies can exploit them as cheap labor.”
June 14, 2025 at 1:47 PM
Apparently the Republican philosophy that the federal government should stay the fuck out of states' business and respect "states' rights" only applies when it's red states using those rights to discriminate or dismantle individual freedoms.
On 6/12, DHS Sec’y Kristi Noem said “We are staying here to liberate [LA] from the socialists and the burdensome leadership this governor and mayor have placed on this country and this city.” This use of military force to displace a democratically elected is the very definition of a coup.

Interesting how the closer we get to Saturday, the more the corporate media play up it being the 250th anniversary of the Army and softpedal the Hairpiece Hitler's birthday. It's almost as if their owners have instructed them not to emphasize that this is how a dictator behaves.
