The NPC AI now only cares about the player if they are doing something suspicious, like carrying an object or trespassing.

You can totally tell that it works because the amazing square turns red when the player is doing something suspicious in their line of sight.

...I think it's cool.

ARE YOU HAPPY NOW!!

...I should probably go outside or something.

Oh, come on, brain. We have a day to work on our own projects, and you are not cooperating.

What are you thinking about now?

Why nothing in life is certain other than death and taxes?

The origin of the word "chair"?

DON'T MAKE ME COME IN THERE.

One day I will make my dream game, which is a cross between NHL94 and Hotline Miami.

It was the first thing I tried to make in Unity 4.3 13 years ago. I knew nothing, so it didn't go very far.

Luckily dreams don't die, they just go into hibernation.

True story.

Them: "We are making a game about the impact humans have on the environment."

Me: Cool.

Them: "Yeah, it's going to make millions."

Me: Cool.

Them: "Yeah, I'm using AI to write all the code for it, and I don't see an issue with that."

Me: Co.........Wait, what?

Pool's errand is feeling more like a video game every day.

Still not 100% sure where it's going, but the bones are there.

Don't forget to take a step back once in a while to appreciate all the work you put into a project.

Even dumb ones like this…

Up with this I will not put!

For those across the pond 40C is roughly 104F...

You don't need AI.

You just need patience.

Well that was an unexpected outcome. Looks like Unitys physics engine decided to be chill.

Oh boy, it's that time of the year where we feel bad about not achieving the thing we said we'd do at the beginning of the year and then pick another thing that we could possibly be sad about this time next year.

Christmas too much?

Jagermeister.

Christmas not enough?

Jagermeister.

Christmas somewhere in the middle?

Jagermeister.

Christmas?

Jagermeister.

Bah humbug.....

"There's no money in it."

The 5 words that have probably done more damage to the progression of the world than any others.

I always think about the fact that there is probably an absolute gem of a game out there that I just don't know about because it has been buried by everything else.

It's the sad reality of gamedev that even a brilliant game can be lost to the ages for a million different non game related reasons.

Life is either a blur of chaos or a slow, grueling march. Somebody really needs to teach the universe about pacing.

Spotify just told me I'm 61 years old and I'm ok with that.

This brings a tear to my eye. Fans bringing a beloved franchise back to life with the blessings of the IP owners.

I know there are others like this out there, but they are few and far between.

OK I should post something daily so that people don't think I'm dead.

6 days later.....crap.

You know what? I think it could use more buttons.

Finally I can use my skill of not being able to draw on purpose!

China Warrior on the Turbografx 16.

An auto scroller, ummmm, beat 'em up? Look, it sucks, bad.

I'm trying to play random games and work out how I could improve them to boost my game design skills.

Without completely changing the game, how would you improve this turd?
November 13, 2025 at 11:45 PM
I'm really hoping that I can get one of my "I get by" game dev skills up to at least "I make it work".
November 3, 2025 at 9:47 PM
Wow, I just found out that running on an angle while holding an object and then breaking the object on a wall and triggering dialogue soft locks my game.

Game dev bugs are brutal.

Test everything all the time, folks.
