Why did a technologically advanced civilization have a medieval feudal government, with succession passing down from father to son by bloodline? If the space witches are so powerful, WHY must they operate from behind the scenes as mistresses (not even wives) and concubines? 2/

I'm not a fan of Dune. I don't like the writing style, I don't like the misogyny: a group of powerful space witches conspired for thousands of years to... wait for it, have a MALE savior. I don't like the colonization apologist rhetoric or the "white men save, white men destroy" subtle racism. 1/

Oh great, tell me how it isn't the price of eggs being too high, it is because nobody needs to eat that many eggs. Let's always blame the people for having basic needs that somehow don't fit our limited worldview, never the policies that put us here. Capitalist pick-me is the worst.

Honestly, current affairs give me a lot of ideas. Like a minor deity whose job was guiding departed souls to the underworld was fired from his job when a bunch of asshole fratboy angels took over the afterlife and privatized the underworld system. At least in my story, the good guys win at the end.
