Excited to be speaking at Teachers Talk Connect on 1st March. I’ll be covering the importance of talk in the Literature classroom- especially to give a voice to the students who may feel they have no place there. Can’t wait.

Term one wrap! Thoroughly enjoying this particular era so far. Love talking about English all day, love the occasional James/Emily school drop off and love the huge variety of staff and students I get to work with. Massive thanks to those of you who encouraged me to make this pivot. So far, so good…

Trying to read more deliberately this year and to strike a balance with more young adult fiction, different approaches to the subject and some just for me! Best read has been Carol Atherton’s ‘Reading Lessons’- a perfect reminder of why this all matters in the first place.
