A small nudge to anyone reading this, but if any of you were planning to buy or upgrade your devices—especially game consoles, computers, or phones:

Highly recommend you purchase now or soon (if you can, ofc). Prices for all of these will rise this year, frustratingly so. 😔😭

Holy shit, I have managed to successfully organise and categorise a photo library that's been built up over a decade and was, in all honesty, kind of a fucking mess.

All 30+ gigabytes of it.

Reposting as penance/a peace offering to this creature. Her favourite seat was my Marshall amp, and when I took it home she was very sad. She's tried sitting on the Roland Cube but it isn't the same. I hope she can find it in her weird heart to forgive me, one day

On a whim I bought a very fairly priced N64, having never owned one before. Next day, seller contacts me to say it has a EU PSU and asks if I still want it. I said yes, and now it’s arrived with an Expansion Pak that wasn’t mentioned in the listing. Sometimes sunk cost fallacy is good, actually

Apparently @rabs.bsky.social and I are spending New Years' Day watching mid 2000's anime DVDs on a PS2 on a crappy plasma TV

There is no greater hell than trying to find a doctor on Boxing Day, because you developed a chest infection over Christmas

Spending Christmas Day itself sick as fuck due to a major flareup, but at least I managed to have a comfy cozy early Christmas with boyfriend last week~

He got me a Lego Game Boy, Cadence of Hyrule, and a cute-ass Hello Kitty x Fender shirt, alongside chocolates and tea ;3

Can I just say? It was absolutely fucking adorable to see @rabs.bsky.social get so invested in Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni. Like he was trying to theorise about what was going on after a couple of arcs, it was really cute!~

God, I swear I didn't mean to become some kind of Linux / open-source evangelist. I just really don't like the way a lot of modern consumer software is going. A lot of it feels designed for shareholders, not users.

At least this way, I feel like I have actual ownership of my own hardware...

Making the switch to Waterfox. I got tired of playing whack-a-mole with Firefox's about:config panel, removing all the AI nonsense when it appears, and that latest announcement by Mozilla does not fill me with confidence.

I just want a browser that isn't Chromium and doesn't have AI nonsense >.<

It's really sinking in that one of the side-effects of this manufactured "AI boom" is that it's increasingly difficult to get excited for upcoming things.

I just have to treat everything with a level of mistrust and skepticism.

Honestly, I think I prefer Bazzite over base SteamOS on my lil' handheld PC. SteamOS is great, don't get me wrong. But I think Bazzite just suits my specific wants and needs just a teeny bit better, while also having everything that makes SteamOS great.

Yeah, this game's kind of a vibe. I did have to switch Proton versions mid-stream because of a small softlock, but that's just Linux gaming for you lmao. No big deal.

Might have to stream chapter 2 sooner rather than later~

I kind of hate how angry I've been these last couple of days, but I can't not feel this weird mixture of frustration and complete despair over the government's half-baked social media age verification laws.

It's going to negatively affect the privacy and safety of everyone. That's blatantly obvious
December 11, 2025 at 2:16 AM
So how long until there's a massive data breach targeting the companies collecting all of those government IDs for Australia's social media age verification laws?

It's like Anthony Albanese saw the Optus data breach and decided he wanted that, but on a bigger scale.
