We have lost a giant. The first filmmaker who made me realize that movies could communicate with you beyond a purely conscious level. His ouvre and influence is staggering. I will truly mourn his loss, almost on the level of a family member. He meant that much to me and so many others.

It says something about my disillusionment with Twitter that two of my favorite follows over there (Garry Shandling and Norm Macdonald) are DEAD.
