Good news! The third book of the Architecture of Consoles series is out! 'The Pioneer Race' collects the analyses of the Sega Saturn, PlayStation, Virtual Boy, and Nintendo 64. You can find it here www.amazon.com/dp/B0FMXYJ6LS
I see a lot of people talking about it but no documented specs anywhere (only percentages by Apple). I'm most interested in whether they've finally implemented the Scalable Vector Extension (SVE) to unlock better support from the compiler (www.phoronix.com/news/Apple-M...)

I've extended the PlayStation 2 article to talk about the PowerPC inside Slim models. I thought it was just a simple CPU along with an emulator to run PS1 games, but it's the weirdest SoC I've ever seen. Thanks svk77 for reporting this.

I've been busy experimenting with a new medium that a lot of people have been asking me: An actual book! I think I found a nice balance and I really like the result. Soon I'll be sharing it with friends and supporters to gather more feedback before making it public
