Great news for residents!

Wandsworth Labour Council has frozen council tax AGAIN 🧊

That means Putney households continue to pay the lowest council tax in the country, with the council also providing fantastic services.
February 10, 2026 at 5:43 PM
The cost-of-living crisis is still very real for many residents in Putney, so it’s great news that Labour's Wandsworth Council is FREEZING council tax this year, unlike many Conservative Councils. 🧊❄️

Settlement expansion in the West Bank and East Jerusalem is causing unimaginable suffering.

The UK must ban trade with illegal settlements, to uphold international law and protect Palestinian civilians.

A proud moment today as the Government launches the new England National Cancer Plan.

I’ve long campaigned for a travel fund for children and young people with cancer, so it’s encouraging to see this included thanks to charities and families.

The plan delivers real change.

In Parliament today I spoke out to protect Sudan’s children.

Brilliant news from Wandsworth Council who are waiving parking permit fees for car clubs. 👏

I’ve been a car club user myself and know how important shared cars are for residents who don’t want to own a vehicle but still need occasional access to a car.

Enough is enough.

Hundreds of residents from Putney and Roehampton came together at Hammersmith Bridge to demand progress after nearly seven years of closure.

Thank you to @leoniec.bsky.social and Cllr Simon Hogg for joining me in calling for urgent action to reopen the Bridge to vehicles.
February 4, 2026 at 2:52 PM
Thank you to the Putney Action Group for supporting my Hammersmith Bridge action event, and to their members who came along to stand up for Putney (with @leoniec.bsky.social too!).

Their community survey has helped show the impact of the bridge closure. That evidence strengthens our case.

I’ve urged the Health Secretary to act on the urgent need for access to medical cannabis for children with drug‑resistant epilepsy. Too many families are still forced into financial hardship to secure treatment that should be available on the NHS.

Great to be out campaigning with Croydon Labour alongside Rachel Reeves, having brilliant conversations about the changes Labour is delivering.

Best of luck to @rowennadavis.bsky.social, a superb candidate for Mayor of Croydon, who can bring much needed change on the local level too. 🌹

Great to see Alton School in Roehampton opening one of Labour’s new free breakfast clubs.

Breakfast clubs help parents get to work and give children the best possible start to the school day.

This is Labour’s Plan for Change in action, boosting life chances for children.
February 4, 2026 at 9:47 AM
Today, Labour backed a new law to scrap the cruel two-child benefit cap. This will reduce child poverty.

In Putney, hundreds of families have been denied support because of this policy, punishing children for circumstances beyond their control.

I chaired the Southfields and Wimbledon Community Panel with many residents associations, councillors and AELTC to talk about improvements for residents during the Championship.

Do contact me if you are local and you’d like to know more.

It’s rare a Conservative admits “we didn’t do enough” but that’s what happened on BBC Politics London, when I discussed Labour’s reforms for leaseholders.

Labour’s will cap ground rents at £250, bring transparency to service charges, and much more.

Real reform, long overdue.

Good news for the Ashburton Estate!

Wandsworth Council has agreed to invest £60,000 in new signage for the Tildesley Road shops.

I’ve seen the designs and they’ll make a real difference for local businesses.

Great to see this support being delivered locally.

I met with the Royal Marines, who showcased their kit and briefed me on the growing Russian threat in the Arctic and North Atlantic. There are real risks to our national security and global stability. (1/2)

I met Steve Reed to discuss how Labour is backing leaseholders.

Every year, homeowners pay £600m to freeholders in unfair ground rents.

Labour’s Commonhold Bill will:

✅ Cap ground rents at £250

✅ Reduce them to a peppercorn after 40 years

✅ End the scandal of forfeiture

There have been rumours circulating about the future of the 93 bus which has understandably caused concern.

To be clear: I’ve been assured by TfL that the 93 route is safe. It remains a vital link between Putney and Wimbledon, relied on by many people every day.

🐳 On board Witness, Greenpeace’s newest vessel, while she was docked in London! 🌊

As Chair of the @environmentappg.bsky.social, it was inspiring to hear from the crew about how this ship saves whales by exposing industrial fishing boats who sneak into protected global marine areas

In Parliament ahead of Holocaust Memorial Day, I was deeply moved to hear from Mala Tribich, a survivor of the concentration camps.

Her powerful testimony is a reminder of where hatred can lead, and why we must remember, and take action so these atrocities never happen again.

💪 Brilliant canvass in West Hill, lots of great conversations and plenty of Labour support.

Big thanks to everyone who came out with us, we had a lovely time! 🌹

Harry Roth, Sam Manley, Cllr Angela Ireland and I will be picking up the issues people shared.

Dermot Neligan, Jasmin Glynne, Joe Smallman and I will be taking up the issues people raised too.
