i'm like fascinated with the visual language of the golden kingdom, i wish i could hear kui talk about her decision making process for it. like it's coherent, it looks good on the page and 'makes sense', but it's drawing from so many different styles

delgal looks much more normal in 9th century clothes (1st pic, costume design for the northman) than 16th century (2nd pic, henry viii). alas...the golden kingdom, fantasy hodgepodge that it is, has too many late medieval/early modern period markers for me to ignore
