To be fair, it’s hard to make people care about one’s own art, unless you have other people to also prop you up, or you create enough of a presence for other reasons.
I went through the “No one gives a damn” frustration, but eventually was convinced it’s not worth stressing over.

To be fair, I wouldn’t be able to watch Netflix in my room without my Xbox, because there’s no cable TV box nor streaming box connected to my bedroom TV.

Oh, right, one last add-on: finding some groups with said like-minded people also did find me some useful advice for dealing with my art-related problems, whether it was healthier motivation reality checks, support that felt tangible, it doesn’t have to be the learning aspect.

I myself am kind of in the state of “I’m still weighed down by this problem, but this doesn’t mean i can’t give functional advice”. So if you can, try to reach out and build connections with like-minded people who ALSO have interests like yours.

Something valuable that i’ve been told is that the amount of traction a creator gets can be very dependent on how many connections they manage to have, and if that connects with what they want to post regularly. So.. again, try to not measure your value based on how many people see your work. (4/?)

If you measure your art’s worth based on how much traction it gets, you won’t REALLY see its worth. The large majority of work doesn’t make it to the surface, so you gotta vision your reach realistically as well. (3/?)
