Hello, new followers!
I have been documenting the disappearance of the American shopping mall since 2016. I do NOT specialize in "dead malls"; I am more interested in still open and forgotten. Many have closed since.

I watched a friend’s funeral service because I couldn’t be there. Crying in bed was actually really nice, but it still feels weird to be able to do that.

I’ve been doing small things for myself this week, and it’s really helped.

I guess I should’ve listened to my therapists a long time ago and started to like myself 🤷‍♀️

Went to see the Springsteen movie last night and I’m still thinking today about how incredible it was.

I generally don’t love music biopics, but the story was a phase of Bruce’s career that I love (Nebraska, and the shelved tapes that became Born in the USA).

Jeremy Allen White was fantastic.

Our house now is generally colder than our apartment used to be; apartment had radiant heat, and was on the top floor. So 66 degrees generally warm for winter.

I wake up every morning now with my cat either tucked into one of my armpits, under the blankets, and/or on my pillow. My little monster.

Burning all of my funky ass being at home energy by going to the gym daily was a smart, smart move (and honestly the only way I’ve survived the past few weeks).

Just another day of wishing that I lived closer to the Poconos. A weekend spent in a heart shaped hot tub would heal me.

Here is the post, where I talk about how I became the owner of a five foot tall painting of a cat 🐈

I have a post exploding on Facebook about my cat painting. All of the comments are so cute and funny and nice. It’s been the highlight of my week, because I loved writing about it.

Nothing is better for a woman than having an absolutely unhinged group chat with her best friends that has gone on for years.

Following both @jmings.bsky.social and @theeferringer.bsky.social on Instagram has made my algorithm think that I too am VERY into The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald 🛥️

Also all I want to eat today is a baked sweet potato, and I have no idea why but I’m gonna make myself one.

Decided I was going to go straight to the gym this morning after my doctors appointment and now I’m kind of cursing myself for being efficient.

Jesus, the new Lily Allen album is so messy, but also, lyrically solid and overall a really good listen.

I’ve had to become a lot of things for myself this year. Real big best friend/worst enemy dynamics for a while, too.

Everything now is just thirst traps and despair. I’ve never felt better.

I need to stop looking at cat paintings on Marketplace, because I am now the proud owner of Cashmere, the Resting Cat. At 4”x5”, this is the largest, most ridiculous thing that I own.

I originally spotted it in the movie An Evening With Beverly Luff Lin, and have been looking ever since.
