Pony Soap is humping against a fence separating him from Ghost and begging him to come closer. There are live electric wires on Ghost's side of the fence. (Soap seems to forget this). Ghost is in the foreground listening to Soap but not getting any closer. Yet. Soap: Si! Si, please...look. Look what ye' missin'. I'll be good. (Panting and garbled noises) Ghost: (listening but cautious) Pony Ghost sitting on the ground laughing because Soap got zapped by the wire.

Soon after Ghost retired, he told the 141 he'd adopted a pet called Skully, they assumed it was a dog from the stories Ghost told. "He loves going for walks, Skully chases the squirrels."

Soap gets leave to visit Simon and discovers Skully is in fact, a cat.

The continuation of the last comic! Soap is at his checkup for his leg. Two weeks have passed since Ghost has been declared MIA, presumed KIA Doc: "Your leg looks good, Sergeant MacTavish! We'll keep the brace off and you can return to light duty in the morning but make sure you keep using the crutches. You should really get some more sleep as well. And I hear you haven't been eating enough, that needs to change. Doctor's orders." Soap looks very tired. Gaz bursts through the door Gaz: "SOAP!" Soap: "I'm not in the mood, Gaz.." Gaz: "He's back" Soap: "..What?" Gaz: "Ghost. They airlifted him in an hour ago, he's in medical. He's alive, mate. Let's go" Soap stands Doc: "Now just wait a minute-" Soap and Gaz are running down the hall Doc: "Your crutches-" Soap: "They found him??" Gaz: "He found them, apparently. Crazy bastard dragged himself to a nearby outpost, I'm not sure what happened" Doc (at medical): "I'm sorry Sir but I can't let you through. Only authorized personnel and family beyond this point-" Soap: "I'm his HUSBAND. I'm listed as his next of kin, you can check his file. Now MOVE and tell me what I need to know" Doc: "R-right! He's in room 208" Gaz, staying behind: "Good luck!" Doc: "The team on-site was able to stop his bleeding but we were told he coded once during surgery. He's recovered enough to be moved at his request. He has several fractured ribs, a hemothorax and multiple lacerations. He should make a full recovery but he's being monitored just to be safe. We had to lightly sedate him since he kept trying to get up and leave." Soap: "that sounds like Ghost, alright" Doc: "You're "Johnny", I assume?" Soap: "Yea, I am.." Soap begins to open the room door Soap: "Thanks, doc" Doc: "Right! I'll leave you-" The door slams Doc: "...to it"

He'd traced its familiar silhouette over and over again and he was pretty sure he could draw it from memory if he wanted to. He found two new branches this time. Dead trees didn't grow new branches. New branches on dead trees didn't move. Screenshot reads: Samuel jogged up to him, handing Angel his gun before following Luke and all the other Sentinels towards the front gate. Joan walked as fast as she could in her several-sizes-too-big boots, her chest and her grip on Angel's hand getting tighter and tighter and tighter the closer to the front gate they got. She'd never seen a real sabandija before, not in person at least, she'd seen drawings of them though; horrible, spiky, scaly monsters that the Prophet could draw perfectly. There used to be drawings of them hung up in the church, in the back corner where the littlest children's lessons were held on Mondays and Fridays. The dead tree stump with its new branches and head and arms filled her head, and Joan squeezed Angel's hand as hard as she possibly could. He squeezed back, but it didn't squeeze the memory out of her head. What if this was her fault? What if she'd called it to la Existencia by being bad and then going Outside? What if the reason it got so close to the front gate was because she hadn't told anyone what she saw? The front gate loomed above the gathered crowd of all her Brothers in the Lord, still closed but with the slot open. Luke was looking through it, his pale face grim and his shotgun clenched tight in his hands. Angel let go of Joan's hand when they reached the crowd, leaving her to stand a safe distance away with everyone else as he headed to the front gate to stand with the other Sentinels. There were only seven of them there, at Joan's count. River was missing, but she didn't have time to pray to the Lord that he was okay before he came hurrying through the crowd with the Prophet hot on his tail.
