#wurmpril Day 6: Tiny 🔍

This is the minimum number of pixels I was able to figure out how to use to (satisfactorily) depict a wurmple, enjoy. 🙂

Another tiny resin aquarium WIP. Since I'll be using deep pour resin this time, I'm experimenting with mounting the little fish on fine fishing line.

Hopefully the lines aren't too visible in the end, we'll see 🤷

The vibe I was going for here was this:
Badass Surf Shop + Grandma's House

Let me know if I pulled it off, lol. 😅

(I was working on this one on-and-off for at least 3 whole years sheesh)

Sculpting by hand is probably my favorite thing ever. This seahorse WIP is made of Super Sculpey and Cosclay. One of those things I started many years ago (before Cosclay was invented actually) and picked up again recently, using exclusively Cosclay now.

Hopefully not much longer till I finish.

I created this one concurrently with that other one in my previous post. It looks great in certain lighting, but overall those visible layer boundaries in the clear resin really burst my bubble.

Going to be trying deep-pour resin soon, to solve that layer issue...

One of my more recently-completed tiny resin aquariums. I realized the sort of "magical" effect I was looking for is much better achieved when there's more than one fish.

This one would have been awesome, except that the boundaries between resin layers were a lot more visible than I expected.

For my first several mini-quariums, I printed the rocks + substrate as one piece, with holes for where I planned to insert the plants. After painting everything and gluing the plants in place, I slid the whole thing into an acrylic box I had prepared.

My other first tiny resin aquarium diorama, turned out similarly well to the other one, probably slightly better. Went very green on this one.

Closeup of the tiny goldfish in the previous post, before I painted it.

(I printed it in clear resin and dyed it with orange alcohol ink)

I love the smol.

One of my first completed tiny aquarium dioramas. Everything inside was digitally sculpted (in Nomad Sculpt), 3D-printed (Elegoo Saturn), and then hand-painted.

As you can see I had issues with bubbles etc in the resin, which I've been working on in subsequent attempts I'll post about later.

First post on BlueSky! Seems neat so far.
