A very mixed weekend for us. Loz's birthday yesterday and mine tomorrow but sandwiched between it's a year today that I lost my best friend Bob, so I'll probably drink one too many tonight, he'd wholeheartedly approve 🤣 & have a white russian at some point (he loved The Big Lebowski). Cheers all 🍻

A very mixed weekend for us. Loz's birthday yesterday and mine tomorrow but sandwiched between it's a year today that I lost my best friend Bob, so I'll probably drink one too many tonight, he'd wholeheartedly approve 🤣 & have a white russian at some point (he loved The Big Lebowski). Cheers all 🍻
Booked train, Plattling Bhf 30 mins away from us to Utrecht, early Jan'. €128 return 1st class, yes 1st class with seat reservations for a 9hr journey. Ok I have a Bahn 25 card saving me 25% off but regardless that's incredible value. Could have got it even cheaper but this is just one transfer.

Bier Advent Calendar has arrived and I have finished curating Loz's with additional beers. The UPS man was highly amused with the packaging 🤣 btw this was our first order from Mr Hop, Venray, Netherlands after visiting there last month on way back from UK. Huge selection & very decent prices.

If anyone is interested in the weather around here 🙄, these two photos were taken almost exactly 24 hours apart, visibility is a few metres 😄, frequently at this point on the edge of village, we'll see the mountain range separating Bayerisch Wald & Šumava, Czech border. 20-25kms away

A question here to all German drivers who read my ramblings. Why is there a real reluctance over here to use fog lights? It's a real pea souper today with hugely reduced visibility & yet no one is bothering to use them which over the years I note happens a lot, am I missing something?

4-5 hours of working out in the garden today, mostly clearing up 🍀 leaves 🌿. We were absolutely knackered. Back inside assisting Loz with cooking a Dishoom recipe Keema Pau. Anyway just poured my second beer, here are my first two beers 🍻 cheers all.

Making this tonight Camarão na moranga. A meal from São Paulo, usually Prawns in a cheesy sauce cooked in a pumpkin. However this version is a coconut 🥥 curry version from the October Waitrose mag my Mum passed onto me last month. Let's see how it goes.
