We're holding this huge event where around 50+ short film artisans meet up and make short films in a shared hub. It's pretty epic every year and you make friends because the whole thing is fiercely non-competitive. If you're into filmmakers as filmmaker, cast or crew then check it out. #kinokabaret

We have a screening on Tuesday Jan 28. Usually we'd tell you we're open screen but all slots have been booked and it's going to be an amazing summer rooftop night of short films at Loop Roof, Melbourne CBD.

Easily over a thousand short films have graced the screen at Filmonik. 111 monthly screenings at about 10 short films each + every Kino-Kabaret screening. Even more impressive would be that over 100 shorts were produced in our Kino-Kabaret events.

A Kino Kabaret is a collaborative filmmaking session with cast and crew hanging out in a hub for a set time, from 24 hours to 11 days, followed by the premiere of the short films to the public. No set teams, no competition, no prizes. Our first one was in 2014 and we may have 3 in 2025.

Hello Melbourne, hello Australia, hello World. We're done with monthly screenings for 2024 as we had our last one last Tuesday but we're cooking up a couple of Kino-Kabaret events for 2025 so our holiday break isn't so much a break but making sure 2025 will be even more exciting.
